You probably have heard about staging a home to better you chances of selling. Usually that includes fluffing pillows, repositioning furniture, and making your home shine. But how about staging your dog to attract home buyers?
Dogs have a long history of being shunned in real estate. We’ve long been told to hide all signs of pets when you’re listing a home for sale. Even a small pet toy in the corner could be an instant turnoff to some.
But ever since the pandemic began a lot more people have become pet owners. And that means a lot more are shopping for homes with their pets in mind. Consider, 43% of pet owners say they’d be willing to move to accommodate their pet, according to the National Association of REALTORS®. What’s more, 68% of pet owners surveyed by realtor.com® say they would pass on the perfect home if it didn’t meet their pet’s needs.
Maybe pets aren’t the deal killer we all once thought they were.
